Our History
Badarikashrama, established in 1984, has been a center dedicated to spiritual life and service to society.
In July 2021, the ashrama was formally handed over to the Ramakrishna Mission and was recognized as a branch of the Ramakrishna Math. This marked a significant step in its journey, bringing it into the fold of the Ramakrishna Order and its tradition of organized spiritual and service activities.
Continuity of Ideals and Service
The growth of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli is not merely a succession of leadership, but a continuous expression of the ideals laid down by Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.
Each phase in its journey reflects a sustained effort to uphold the spirit of renunciation and service, adapting to the needs of the time while remaining rooted in timeless spiritual values.
Through its activities in education, spiritual practice, and rural service, the Math continues to serve as a center where these ideals are lived in daily life.
The work carried forward by successive heads stands as a testament to the enduring mission of the Ramakrishna Order – to combine spiritual realization with service to humanity.
Presidents of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli
Since its recognition as a branch of the Ramakrishna Math in 2021, the center has been guided by successive Presidents whose leadership has helped nurture its spiritual and service activities.
Swami Bodhaswaroopanandaji Maharaj
The first President of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli. Prior to this, he served as the head of Ramakrishna Math, Ponnampet. Under his guidance, Badarikashrama was established as an official center of the Ramakrishna Math.
Period: July 2021 – November 2022
Swami Hridanandaji Maharaj
He continued to guide the Math in its spiritual and service activities, strengthening its role as a center for education and spiritual practice.
Period: November 2022 – February 2024
Swami Mangalanathanandaji Maharaj
During his tenure, the Math carried forward its mission of spiritual discipline and service to the surrounding community.
Period: February 2024 – July 2025
Swami Tadyuktanandaji Maharaj
The current President of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli, continuing the tradition of spiritual leadership and service in accordance with the ideals of the Ramakrishna Order.
