RKM Madihalli - Presidents
Since its recognition as a branch of the Ramakrishna Math in 2021, the center has been guided by successive Presidents whose leadership has helped nurture its spiritual and service activities.
Swami Omkarananda
Swami Omkaranandaji Maharaj, known as Huchappa in his purvashrama (pre-monastic life), was a spiritual leader deeply inspired by the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. From an early age, he was drawn towards spirituality and dedicated his life to the service of society through education, culture, religion, and social welfare.
With the ideal of “Janaseveye Janardhana Seve” (Service to humanity is service to God) - he founded Badarikashrama at Maadihalli in 1983 as a center for spiritual practice and rural upliftment. Under his guidance, the ashrama became a Tapabhumi (land of penance) and Karmabhumi (land of action), carrying out educational, cultural, social, and religious activities for the welfare of surrounding villages.
Extending this vision beyond India, Swami Omkaranandaji also established a branch of Badarikashrama in San Leandro, USA, in 1984, which continues to serve devotees and spiritual seekers.
Swami Bodhaswaroopanandaji Maharaj
The first President of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli. Prior to this, he served as the head of Ramakrishna Math, Ponnampet. Under his guidance, Badarikashrama was established as an official center of the Ramakrishna Math.
Period: July 2021 – November 2022
Swami Hridanandaji Maharaj
He continued to guide the Math in its spiritual and service activities, strengthening its role as a center for education and spiritual practice.
Period: November 2022 – February 2024
Swami Mangalanathanandaji Maharaj
During his tenure, the Math carried forward its mission of spiritual discipline and service to the surrounding community.
Period: February 2024 – July 2025
Swami Tadyuktanandaji Maharaj
The current President of Ramakrishna Math, Maadihalli, continuing the tradition of spiritual leadership and service in accordance with the ideals of the Ramakrishna Order.
Period: July 2025 – Present
